An Easter celebration with family
Can be crazy with my Uncle Stanley.
He plots and schemes on where to hide
The eggs filled with goodies inside.
I do love a bit of fun
So I've made some eggs for everyone.
A little surprise awaits them all.
Did Uncle Stanley take a backward fall?
Ah, a sunny day and family all around.
Don't worry, Daddy. Don't you fret, Mommy. This diabolical mastermind has no intentions of pulling off any dastardly mayhem. My diabolical schemes are special, just for you.
Easter celebration is the best. He is risen. Yes!
What a way to celebrate than by filling Easter eggs and hiding them all around? I dare say, I might like searching through the ground. Especially, if I find any chocolate with peanut butter filling inside.
"Don't let the kids see where I'm going!" Crazy Uncle Stanley hisses as he darts past with a bag full of plastic eggs.
Too late!
Everyone is watching, including sneaky cousin Tommy.
His eyes are darting, what is he planning? Has he been following crazy Uncle Stanley?
I crawl away when Mommy isn't looking. Tommy keeps sneaking, so very, very sneakishly, and returning to this table that has a long, long cover. What is underneath the mock tablecloth? This diabolical mastermind needs to investigate.
Easter eggs!!!!!!!
So many, many of them.
That's what cousin Tommy is up to. He's taking the eggs when no one is looking and keeping them all for himself. That mean, mean cousin.
There isn't much time. Cousin Tommy will soon be back.
I take a wad of grass and a smidgen of doggy doodoo. Swapping and mixing as fast as I can, I soon crawl back from under the table hiding Tommy's stash.
"Where did you get a basket full of eggs?" Mommy asks with a lift of her brow. "Stanley, I think you missed a few."
"That's impossible!" Crazy Uncle Stanley gasps, completely out of breath. "I was sure I'd grabbed them all," he says before dashing away to hide the rest.
"Okay, everyone!" Grandpa calls out. "Time for the Easter egg hunt to begin!"
Tommy tiptoes closer to his hidden stash, a smirk slithering up his cheek.
"On three. One, two..."
Does anyone every really wait for three? Especially, when there are Easter eggs to find.
Everyone sprints, everyone searches. Everyone, that is, except sneaky cousin Tommy.
He darts under the table, disappearing completely. A few minutes later, he reappears with basket loaded and eggs toppling over the rim.
"I guess I've found all of mine," he shrugs and heads over to start opening every egg.
"How did he find them so fast?" One of the grownups mumbles.
"Impossible!" Uncle Stanley declares. "I hid them too well for his to find so many so fast."
The others return, their baskets less than half full. All of them glaring at cousin Tommy and the pile of eggs he so suspiciously found.
"Let's open them up and see what everyone found!" Grandpa announces before handing a little egg to me. "Since you're still too young for the hunt, I saved a special one for you."
Oh, please tell me it has peanut butter filled chocolate inside! Oh, please, please, please!
I'm too busy gobbling, with Gobbles by my side, to notice the first egg that Tommy decides to open.
"Yuck! Dog doodoo!?" Tommy screeches. "And... Is that bird poo?"
Mommy twists her head and takes a look at me. A quick dart at Gobbles and she gets the scheme.
"Grass!?" Tommy starts to yell. "Who filled these eggs?"
"Mine doesn't have grass," one cousin happily says.
"All I've got is chocolate," another says with a big, big smiley beam.
"ROCKS!?"
That'll teach Tommy to steal all of the eggs before everyone else can battle to the death for them.
"Hey, one of mine has rocks in it, too."
"What?" Uncle Stanley sways when he sees what could only be mud covered rocks instead of Sherry's jelly beans. "I could have sworn..." He woozes and wobbles. "How..."
Down to the ground Uncle Stanley falls on his back. With a thump and a humph, he passes out. Only for a second, maybe two.
"Next time keep better track," Mommy whispers when no one is looking.
Oopsies.
